Digby Modular 8‑Plex

The Digby 8‑Plex is an award‑winning modular housing development delivered in partnership with Citadel Homes and the Government of Nova Scotia to provide high‑quality, accessible housing for families in Digby, Nova Scotia. Recognized as a standout in modular innovation, this project earned First Place for Permanent Multifamily Building at World of Modular 2026. 

This two‑storey residential building includes eight thoughtfully designed units, featuring a mix of layouts to support family living, along with two accessible units designed to meet diverse housing needs. The development balances functionality, durability, and comfort, creating homes that are well suited for long‑term community use. 

Constructed using modular building methods, the units were prefabricated off‑site in a controlled manufacturing environment, ensuring high quality and consistency throughout. While site work progressed, modules were built, delivered and efficiently assembled, reducing construction time and minimizing disruption to the surrounding area.

The Digby 8‑Plex demonstrates the strength of modular construction in delivering reliable, efficient, and cost‑effective multi‑unit housing. As an award‑winning project, it stands as a leading example of how modular solutions can support government housing initiatives while maintaining high standards for safety, performance, and design.
